Viagra for women

We all know that Viagra works wonders for men. Why does Viagra work so well? If a man takes Viagra before sex, there's a window of time in which Viagra amplifies the chemical process that increases and improves blood flow to the penis. This allows most previously "drooping" men to have "raging hardons," or full erections.

Sure, that takes care of the guys. Typical, huh? Women have some problems, too, and one of those is a form of "female impotence," which we'll explain shortly. The good news is Viagra may help "impotent" women. Viagra may help you, if you are one of these women. There are many of you out there. Why so? In most cases, probably the same blood flow problems that result in male impotence.

A shortage of a certain compound (GMP) in the bloodstream causes the blood flow problems that cause impotence. Viagra enhances the performance of GMP by lengthening GMP cycle times. This causes the penis to engorges blood. You may not know this, but the original purpose of Viagra was to treat angina (chest pain associated with poor circulation to the heart). Coincidentally, patients on a Viagra protocol were having better and longer erections. And that led us to see Viagra as a cure for male impotence.

What about women? Nitric oxide, which is important to male erections, also exists in females. In fact, the clitoris--the counterpart of the penis--produces Nitric oxide. Hmm. This got the doctors to thinking. And what they thought was the same kind of blood flow problems that cause male impotence might be causing female impotence. Sound logical, right? Read on.

What is "female impotence?" We all know clitoral swelling and vaginal lubrication are real, right? How do you think that happens? Blood must flow into the vaginal area, especially the area near the clitoris, for a woman to respond sexually. When women have poor orgasms, can't reach orgasm, suffer from vaginal dryness, or have other problems indicative of poor stimulation, poor blood flow to the vaginal area may be a culprit. For whatever reason.

Those reasons can be many. Generally poor circulation is almost always a result of poor health practices. Smoking is a major cause. So are heart disease and diabetes. Smoking is a major cause of heart disease. Diabetes is diet-related. People on highly glycemic diets are at high risk for diabetes and other illnesses. Lack of exercise is yet another factor.

Then there's a host of medicines that treat diseases brought on by smoking, poor diet, lack of exercise, and--in some cases--just plain bad luck. These may contribute to sexual dysfunction. Add in the stress of such things as working in today's global economy and dealing with such agencies as the IRS, and it is sometimes a wonder anyone can get it up or get it on.

How To Enhance Male Fertility – A Few More Tips

How to enhance male fertility has now become a major issue in the public. This issue of male fertility affects nearly 30% to 40% of couples, who have difficulty in conceiving a baby. A male fertility test usually reveals low sperm count or unhealthy sperm. Impotency and premature ejaculation are other reasons of concern affecting society. Both partners have to go for fertility test, if a woman fails to conceive even after repeated attempts. These tests are taken only after the doctor is convinced that enough time has elapsed, usually a year.

Reasons For Infertility In Males

There are many reasons for low sperm count in the males. Some of the most common ones are given below -

  • Varicocles - A condition in which dilated scrotal veins, weaken sperm development by blocking drainage of blood. This condition can be corrected medically.
  • Sperm disability – Due to low production, abnormal production or no production in the male body.
  • Premature or retrograde ejaculation – It is caused by the malfunctioning of the muscles and failure of the nervous system. This could be the result of too much medication after an accident, weakness in the body due to operation or any other disease.
  • Blocking of the sperm passage
  • Hormone levels being low
  • Other genetic defects
  • Side effects of Cancer
  • Too much exposure to heat, as in boilers, hot beds, mines etc.
  • Too much drug or alcohol abuse
  • Too much smoking

There is no reason to be disheartened, as most of the cases mentioned above can either be treated or avoided, and the affected person can become a healthy person once again. Injections like Intracytoplasmic sperm injection and vitro fertilization have helped many couples to conceive and give birth to healthy babies. You can also read books on how to enhance male fertility.

Here are some Tips To Increase Sperm Count.

Healthy Living

Firstly, eat healthy food, rich in vitamins and minerals. Second, exercise regularly, to keep fit and healthy. Remain tension free and apply your mind to one thing at a time. Practice meditation.

Foods That Increase Sperm Count

A regular intake of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables increases antioxidants, which are responsible for increase in sperm. An apple a day keeps doctor away and increases the sperm count as well. Do not undermine the role of diet in influencing your sperm count. You can also take the help of vitamin tablets if you are unable to keep a regular intake of fruits and vegetables. Male fertility increases if you include vitamin c and e in your diet along with zinc and selenium. Now you know how to enhance male fertility.

Time Tested Herbs And Oils

Many herbs and oils are also used to enhance male fertility. Chinese herb ginseng, saw palmetto, astral Gus and macaw are medicines to increase sperm count. Many oils like sunflower oil, certain fish oils, even pumpkin seeds and flax seed oil find favor with some to increase low sperm count. Besides the above-mentioned herbs and oils, certain tablets like Viagra and many others claim to reduce male infertility. However, it is always better to consult your physician before using any of the above-mentioned drugs, herbs or oils.

Remember that this stage of pre pregnancy is very delicate and requires perfect pregnancy planning. Do some regular exercise, walk as much as you can, drink lot of water, and stay clear of smoking and drinking and wear loose-fitting clothes. Listen to music to remain tension free, and do not overstrain yourself watching too much TV. Spend some time reading light books and magazines and gather as much information as you can on how to deliver a healthy baby and how to enhance male fertility.

Beware adverts for The Original Blue Pill!

There are adverts appearing in all the national press, about the 'Blue Pill', which to many men, means cheap Viagra!

'The Original Blue Pill', as described in these adverts, gives you the impression that you might be getting the drug 'Viagra', which indeed is a blue pill, that is licensed for use in men with erectile dysfuction, ie the inability to get a penile erection satisfactory enough (hard enough) to enjoy sex and achieve sexual orgasm. However, don't fall into the trap of buying this 'Blue Pill'.

First of all - no claims are made that it is a 'Viagra-type' pill, sure enough they say its the 'Original Blue Pill' so what does that mean - nothing! Next it is shown to be a triangular tablet - Viagra is not triangular - it's diamond-shaped! Finally, the advert makes no claims whatsoever - it doesn't say what the tablet is for or what it does. This advert plays only on your knowledge that there is a blue tablet out there that can help men with impotence - the inability to get an erection. This blue tablet has no scientific evidence to prove that it works in these treatment araes.

The advert is very clever and deceiving, it doesn't even mention impotence or even hint at what the 'Blue Pill' contains. In fact, what does it contain? I only hope it contains nothing more than simple sugar.

I just can't believe that companies can get away with this sort of advertising. Many men who feel embarrassed about their impotence problem, will have heard about 'the blue pills' (Viagra) and will foolishly send off their £6 for 10 tablets and experience nothing. Will they then fight to get their money back - I think not!!

Viagra is a 'prescription only medicine' that can only be prescribed by a doctor to a patient who he feels warrants this treatment. The doctor will not prescribe Viagra to any man who has a pre-existing heart condition where sexual activityis inadvisable, or where other conditions such as liver disease, recent stroke, heart attack or low blood pressure has been present. In fact, there are a lot of restrictions on the use of Viagra, and that's why it should only be prescribed by a practising doctor - who knows your medical history.

Never buy Viagra or any other prescription drug from the internet. Always talk to your GP first, or even drop me a line here and I'll see if i can give you some independent advice. I will soon be setting up an evening surgery, once a week, here on thefamilyGP.com site, to try and answer your medical questions. Come back to the site to find out when my weekly surgery will be up and going. Soon I hope!

Viagra developed from walnut!

Are you suffering from low sexual confidence? Walnut may be a fruit for you to patronise. Some people have a constantly low libido, whereas others experience episodes of loss of libido. Common contributors to low libido include sexual familiarity/boredom, tiredness, stress, hormones, many commonly prescribed drugs, the children, illness, too much alcohol, too much food and too many other things that need to be done. Some of these contributory problems can be worked on to put your love life back into a more prominent.

This entails working on your self-image, keeping an eye on your alcohol intake; prevent terminal exhaustion; exercise to increase sex drive as well as eat a good balanced diet including some ‘aphrodisiac foods’. One of such is meat. Meat, including Oysters, is high in the amino acid, Arginine and minerals such as Zinc and Iron that are essential for sexual performance. Bee pollen is food for sex. Bee pollen can help boost your sperm count and sexual function. The pollen is made from millions of particles of a semen-like substance. Almonds, avocado and asparagus are naturally rich in the minerals such as Zinc, Manganese and Copper. The minerals are precursors for the antioxidant enzyme that is essential for sexual potency. Coffee can boost your libido. Coffee boosts dopamine. a major neuro-transmitter that is correlated with keeping the level of blood testosterone from dropping. Similarly, hot chocolate can both serve to both stimulate and sedate. Chocolate, cocoa liquor and a glass of wine was considered to be aphrodisiac by the Aztecs and later on by the Spanish conquistadors.

Yogurt is high in calcium and phosphorus—two minerals that help to build your muscles’ energy reserves and boost libido. Calcium also helps to make your orgasms more powerful, since the muscles that control ejaculation need calcium in order to spasm and contract properly. Many herbs can serve the same purpose, just like viagra. Horny Goat Weed and pumpkin seeds are some of these. They are known to boost libido and testosterone levels. They similarly give you stronger ejaculations and increase semen volume. A study by researchers at the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, College of Medicine University of Lagos (CMUL), Idi Araba, Lagos, identified 10 local plants that have been successfully used in South Western Nigeria as aphrodisiac. The root of Carpolobia lutea is regarded as Ogun Aleko, that is an invigorating tonic or aphrodisiac. Water in which the root of Cassia sieberiana (Aridan, Tooro, Ifo, Idotoro in Yoruba) has been soaked for a week is drunk as an aphrodisiac.

Viagra for Women

Viagra for women: while it's hard to say who's more anxious to see it behind the counter of your local pharmacy -- men or women -- the real winner will be the company that manages to get it approved by the Food and Drug Administration. According to a new article in the May edition of webmd.com, two new treatments have made significant progress towards the goal of being recognized as the first drug to stimulate the female sex drive.

First in line in the low-female-sex-drive-sweepstakes is a drug called flibanserin(Boehringher-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals) which is currently in "phase III" clinical trials (that's the final phase of drug testing required by the Food and Drug Administration). Although in phase III, Boehringher-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals is keeping a tight lid on flibanserin. Some critics say the drug is actually an anti-depressant. It's effects on the female libido are being closely guarded (BusinessWeek, Jan. 8, 2007).

Meanwhile, another drug -- called bremelanotide -- is in development as well, one that webmd.com reports is supposed to cure low female sex drive and male erectile dysfunction at the same time. Both potential uses are being tested in "phase II" clinical trials, which are early studies required by the FDA to assess how well a drug works and how safe it is.

According to press release from Palatin Technologies -- the company researching bremelanotide -- the drug is administered in the form of a nasal spray, and it acts on the central nervous system, stimulating a region of the brain called the hypothalamus, which is known to be involved in sexual arousal in both men and women.

Seems pretty cut and dried: a type of female Viagra that impacts a woman's state of arousal and increase her desire. But critics say it's not quite that simple.

Researchers at the Dartmouth Medical School point out that -- technically speaking -- arousal and desire are not the same thing. Arousal is the physical and psychological state of being primed for sex (i.e. the penis becomes erect, the vagina lubricates, heart rate increases, and blood vessels dilate). But experts says the lines of "sexual desire" are a bit blurry. It can't specifically be "seen" and has to do with wanting to become aroused.

Other critics feel that the root of "sexual desire" is less a medical issue and more a psychological one. Rosemary Basson, MD (University of British Columbia, Canada) -- according to WebMD.com -- agrees that the medical focus on desire is misplaced. "...Women and men have multiple motivations to be sexual, and desire is only one of these reasons. Desire for sex can also be the desire to feel emotional closeness with someone, to please that person, or to feel attractive..."

While pharmaceutical companies continue to eye the potential windfall such a drug could bring financially, many experts question what is the actual size of the potential market for these drugs. For example, survey results published in the January/February 2005 issue of the International Journal of Impotence Research reported that 43% of women have low sexual desire, while a similar survey in the British Medical Journal reported findings of only 10%. Another study carried out by the Kinsey Institute came up with even lower numbers (7%).

So the jury is still out. A more realistic assessment of the two drugs will happen when and if either finally gets FDA approval.

A new study from Argentina finds that viagra can reduce the amount of jetlag in hamsters

A new study has found that the drug viagra, has shown the ability to reduce jetlag in hamsters.

Scientists from Argentina, found that the drug helped the rodents to recover up to 50% faster from forward shifts in their daily time cycles, however they also noted that the drug only worked when used in conjunction with light therapy and only worked in one time direction.

For their study, to shift time in the daily lives of the hamsters, the team of researchers switched on lights 6 hours earlier than they usually would and then monitored the amount of running on their wheels that the hamsters took part in.

The drug, which did not cause penile erections in male hamsters, allowed the hamsters to adjust to the differing time cycle faster, even when the drug was administered in low doses.

"This is a study in laboratory animals, and clinical trials should be undertaken before deciding whether Viagra is a useful and safe treatment for those
situations," said Diego Golombek, the lead investigator on the study.

He also stated that because humans and mammals have similar daily cycles, that "there's no reason not to believe it should work in humans."
